Description

A self-taught art enthusiast, Mathias Ary Jan founded his first gallery in 1997. Galerie Ary Jan is based at 32 avenue Marceau in Paris, and exhibits works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Among the many artistic movements that flourished during this pivotal period in the history of art, the Ary Jan gallery specialised in Orientalism, the Belle Époque, Symbolism and Post-Impressionism. It has been exhibiting at BRAFA, the Biennale des Antiquaires and the Salon du Dessin for almost fifteen years, and now at TEFAF in Maastricht. Mathias Ary Jan is also President of the National Union of Antique Dealers (SNA) and a recognised expert on the painter Felix Ziem, whose association he set up in 2009. Committed to practising his profession with integrity, he is also a member of the National Company of Experts (CNE) and the Royal Chamber of Antiquaries of Belgium (ROCAD).
